Introduction to ASSIC

Introduction

ASSIC was founded with the objective of medical, sport and surgical service provision with a scientific validated development approach to reach Africa, hence the name African Sport Science Institute Clinic (ASSIC). As managing director of ASSIC I, Dr M Y Hassan, have seen the hardship with medical and sport development due to the financial constraints within South Africa and for that reason ASSIC was founded as a reaching organization to assist with the development process. The ASSIC infrastructure was a self funded development program demonstrating the will, determination and perseverance of an individual health care professional to serve humanity and as experience has taught, the medical oath extends beyond the physical treatment and include community psychosocial development.

Education

Nelson Mandela stipulated that “Sport has the power to change the world. It has the power to inspire. It has the power to unite people in a way that little else does. It speaks to youth in a language they understand. Sport can create hope where once there was only despair.” I have personally lived and experienced this as former Springbok rugby doctor of the rugby world cup winning team of 2007. ASSIC’s mandate is medical and sport development using a validated scientific based approach with a self empowerment philosophy assisted by appropriate carers.

Using technology

Using advancing technology ASSIC company assists the community and the academics involved in its development and teaching programs.

Infrastructure

ASSIC has created an education platform to assist with academic development and with its applications have created tools to assist with development and monitoring.

Development tools have been created using the same scientific based approach to the development of the 2007 South African rugby world cup winning program.
