The Sartorius, Gracilis and Semitendinosis tendons insert on the medial side of the proximal tibia and resembles a “goose foot”, hence the usage of the Latin description Pes Anserine (goose foot).
The Pes Anserine bursa may become inflamed due to trauma, overuse or due to medial knee arthritis and present with Pes Anserine bursitis.

- Meniscus protrusion and medial collateral ligament displacement

- Swelling and tenderness
